On the 14th of September the Town of Llanrwst saw a celebration at one of its well known and loved historical sites. The Almshouses Museum nuzzled within a historical quarter of Llanrwst invited Lord Dafydd Elis-Thomas to open their Victorian Sensory Garden. The museum was also celebrating their accredited status, acheived earlier in the year. Linda Tomos, director of CyMAL presented curator Miss Eirlys Owen with the accreditation certificate, a very proud moment for all the hard work put into the Museum to acheive this status, the only Museum in North Wales to have been awarded this accreditation.

The afternoon's event was centred on local heritage and tradition. The event started with the children of Ysgol Bro Gwydir performing traditional Welsh dance on Ancaster Square. Guests were then welcomed into the Museum with the captivating voices of the Llanrwst Male Voice Trio. The beautiful Victorian Sensory Garden was officially opened, yet again another proud moment for the Museum, and the much needed Funding Appeal was launched.

The day's event ended with a fitting and traditional performance from a local harpist Dylan Cernyw.
