Prince Charles

His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales visited the medieval St Grwst church in Llanrwst on Friday 25 April as part of a visit to the Conwy Valley. He arrived in the town after a visit to Bodnant Gardens. His Royal Highness had particularly requested to see the sarcophagus of Prince Llewellyn, from whom both his grandparents, King George V1 and Queen Elizabeth the Queen mother are descended. He showed a genuine interest in the history of the church.

The Prince of Wales was presented to church officers before being introduced to some of the founder members of the St Grwst’s Mothers' Union inside the church where he also enjoyed the singing of the small choir of children from Llanddoged Church School.
